How Much Are These Stamps With A Printing Error Worth?
I have a strip of 5 Canadian $1 stamps from the 1970′s in which 2 of them are missing the top portion of the dollar sign (the line over the $ is missing). Anyone know anything about how I could get a value on them?
A good place to start would be the American Philatelic Society (national Stamp collectors club) and dealers who specialize in “Errors, Freaks, and Oddities” — that’s the name for that particular area of study. Your stamps sound like an inking “freak,” but if you send a scan to a dealer you find at the APS web site http://www.stamps.org/directories/dir_DealerMembers.htm
